It’ll also reduce any echo and handle sound absorption, giving them a chance to feel safe and protected.
If you need to do more than just soundproofing a room, there are other options out there. For example, you can offer them a pair of noise-canceling headphones. If they are in a place where the loud noises are inevitable but they have to be there, they can just pop the headphones on and instantly be brought into a place of peace and serenity.
You can also help someone with autism schedule times of quiet, where they take a break from the busy world and sit in a place that is completely quiet for a little while. Taking steps such as placing tennis balls on the bottoms of chairs to eliminate the screeching or installing carpets in any room they may be in can also be a huge help.
